Neptune represents all that we cannot see – our intuition, imagination and creativity. Mercury’s multiple sensory impressions come together to create something that did not exist before. Dreams are a good example of Neptune reorganizing existing information to create something new. Dreams can be confusing, we all know that. But dreams can also be instructive. What is not fully processed during the day appears at night to find new avenues for exploration and expression.
Dreams help us navigate through life and find new answers to old problems. Neptune rules the process of imagination. Many people say that fantasy is not real. Fantasy isn’t real, of course, but it doesn’t have to be. Imagination creates possibilities. Once this new mental image is created, we can take it further and materialize it in the real world. But first we need that mental opportunity from Neptune. Neptune also helps to untangle what is otherwise difficult to untangle. Let’s take the example of dreams again.
We have millions of thoughts and mental impressions throughout the day. If you don’t sleep, you go crazy and you have no gray matter left. When we sleep, thoughts and mental impressions that are not necessary or relevant are removed or moved to the basement of our psyche (these days we move them to the cloud). We can call them whenever we need them. But there’s no reason to keep it in our RAM right now. Who decides what is important and what should be archived? Neptune. Neptune is the highest octave of Venus. Venus is what is important to us on a personal level.
Neptune represents what matters to us in the context of the world we live in – on a meta-level. imagination – creating new possibilities – and dissolving what is no longer needed are two important functions of Neptune.
